Our coastline is always in a constant state of change as the wind and sea hammer it. Before modern sea defences many more coastal communities faced the real threat of erosion particularly when a big Atlantic storm hit. The villagers of Cwm yr Eglwys know this only too well having lost almost all of their church to the sea in the Charter Storm of 1859. Ellie Harrison is braving the freezing sea air to meet local Anne Lewis whose family have lived in the village for generations, her great, great grandparents were one of the last couples to be married in the church. Now all of that remains is the front entrance.

Tom Heap’s looking at the future of lamb farming in the UK and finds that the amount of lamb we eat is falling. In fact there are two things that keep the industry afloat. The first is the muslim community who despite making up just 5 percent of the population consume a fifth of all the sheep meat we produce. The second is exports to the European Union. So what can be done to entice us all to eat lamb again?

Fall back in love with lamb

It’s an early spring morning on the Pembrokeshire coast but winter still has a strong grip on the land. For Cuban artist, Raul Speek the seaside village of Solva has been his adoptive home since he came here 20 years ago. Struck by the stunning and sometimes chaotic coast line he worked it all into his art, though the golden beaches and rich colours of Cuba still retain some influence.

For generations, up on Scotland's vast uplands animals often disappear without any trace at all. When these mysterious losses cannot be explained, local farmers here write it off as 'Black Loss'. Adam travels to the Scotland’s Rural College Upland Research Centre near Crianlarich where he meets Professor Davy McCracken. The man who's tasked with finally solving the Black Loss mystery.

Even the cold weather can’t keep farmers Meg and Damian McNamara from going about their work: their prized herd of boer cross goats and it’ just as well the snow can’t keep them away as a few of the does are in kid. Ellie joins the herd, who’ve all been bred on the farm and discovers the couple’s  secret weapon, social media.
