Australian and African athletes have dominated the men's and women's races over the years and are expected to be among the frontrunners again. Wheelchair marathon events take place at the Commonwealth Games for the first time and get underway before the able-bodied races.

Steve Cram and Paula Radcliffe provide commentary.
