Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetically inherited condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. Every day is a gruelling regime of treatment and physiotherapy. The UK-wide charity Cystic Fibrosis Trust is dedicated to fighting for a life unlimited by CF, investing in cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and ultimately beating CF for good.
Jenny Agutter and her niece Rachel
Jenny Agutter鈥檚 niece Rachel was diagnosed with CF when she was six months old. This was in the 1970s, when most born with the condition would not live past childhood. Thanks to advances in care and research, people like Rachel are living longer, but CF casts a constant shadow.
The threat of deadly bacteria
Common bacteria can cause deadly lung damage in people with CF, and drug-resistant bacteria are on the rise and passing fatally between people with the condition.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust needs your support to fund research into new ways to detect and treat these deadly infections, and search for new antibiotics, to bring hope to thousands of families living with CF in the UK.聽
