Huw Stephens sits in for Mary Anne Hobbs, and grime MC and producer Novelist is his guest!

Huw chats to the rapper about his Mercury Prize nominated album 'Novelist Guy', the influence of 80's cop films on his sound, and the importance of his parents' support throughout his career.

Novelist has previously received a MOBO nomination for his role as part of The Square Crew (Best Grime Act) and was named on the 主播大秀 Sound of 2015 longlist. His 2018 album was produced in his bedroom and released on his own label 'Mmmyeh Records'.

Other 2018 Mercury Prize nominees include Arctic Monkeys, Everything Everything, Everything Is Recorded, Florence + The Machine, Jorja Smith, King Krule, Lily Allen, Nadine Shah, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Sons of Kemet and Wolf Alice.
