Belfast Region City Deal

Wendy speaks to Professor Paddy Nixon, Paul Gosling, Paul Swinney and Cllr Deirdre Hargey about the Belfast Region City deal.

Belfast Region City Deal is quite a deal - even just in terms of its partners - six councils ...Antrim and Newtownabbey, Ards and North Down Belfast , Lisburn and Castlereagh, Mid and East Antrim, Newry and Down, working in partnership with Queen's and Ulster Universities, Belfast MET, Further Education colleges and the NI Civil Service.

What's it all about? How much will it cost? What will it mean for the region? Can it really create up to 20,000 new jobs and a ten-year programme of inclusive economic growth? And why are Derry and Strabane pursuing their own City Deal?

Wendy asks these questions to Belfast Lord Mayor Cllr Deirdre Hargey, Ulster University Vice Chancellor Paddy Nixon, Paul Swinney Head of Policy and Research, Centre for Cities and financial journalist Paul Gosling.
