Should you be taking grandparents on holiday to stop them from being lonely? 0808 5 92 95 00. Text 80295

PHONE-IN
Grandparents should be taken on family holidays, the UK minister responsible for tackling loneliness has said. Mims Davies said British people could learn from how Mediterranean nations involve grandparents in their lives. She also suggested that employers should give staff more time off to look after lonely relatives. The new sport and civil society minister told the Sunday Telegraph that communities had a "moral duty" to stop the elderly feeling abandoned. In Scotland, Scotland's first-ever strategy was launched earlier this month to tackle loneliness and social isolation.

And there is plenty to celebrate.
