The American sound designer and architect of abstract pop Katie Gately compiles a playlist of her favourite leftfield music. Featuring noise music from Russia, avant-garde clarinet music from Peru, danceable field recordings from France and industrial body music from Switzerland.
Gately works with a plethora of computer programs to shape her voice into compositions that waver between industrial collages and playful pop tunes. She began uploading music to Soundcloud in 2012 before releasing EPs on Public Information, Blue Tapes, FET Press and FatCat Records. Her debut album 'Color', was released in 2016. And she produced six tracks on serpentwithfeet's 2018 debut LP 'Soil'.
