Will Leitch meets Tony Trethowan who decided to take a new career path later in life. For many years, Tony worked in Health and Safety in various organisations including Translink, but after becoming semi-retired he decided to re-invent himself, and use his existing skills to work for humanitarian organisations where he could really make a difference. He has worked in the Yemen, Nigeria, in the Mediterranean on a ship and will be setting off in the next few weeks to Afghanistan and Yemen.

There’s music from a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by Fusion Theatre - coming to the Island Hall in Lisburn, from 4th-7th September 2019.

With A-level results in the air, we discuss the different routes to a successful career – even if you didn’t get the results you hoped for. With career consultant Ian Weatherup and Communication expert Nicky Pattinson, who learned her trade working on market stalls.

Paula McIntyre is preparing roast carrot falafels with a dressing of mint yoghurt and fabulous Padron peppers grown in Garvagh.

Will meets Stan Conroy, a 12- year-old photographer from Armagh. Stan is battling brain cancer and is losing his sight, however his passion for photography has led him to successfully exhibit his work and raise thousands of pounds for charity.

And we have music from guitarist Gavin Ferris, who got the grades he needed for university but decided not to go and decided to pursue music instead. Today Gavin is living his best life, as a stay at home dad who gigs by night and has just performed at Stendhal over the weekend and is performing at the Hilden Brewery Festival with the String Ninjas on Sunday 25th August.
