The USA start as heavy favourites, having won ten of the previous 15 tournaments and the last two in a row. However, Europe鈥檚 side, led by captain Catriona Matthew, have been victorious on both previous occasions that the event has been held in Scotland, at Dalmahoy in 1992 and Loch Lomond in 2000.
