A look at the lives of some of Glasgow's young generation of Gaels. Sùil air beatha ginealach òg nan Gàidheal ann an Glaschu

A look at the lives of some of Glasgow’s young generation of Gaels in Scotland’s biggest city.

Mia, 19, was previously ninth in the UK in her category for BMX racing but has slipped to 13th. This year she is aiming to get back in the top ten. She is out training at a state-of-the-art facility in Knightswood and talks about what it feels like to be a young female in a male-dominated sport.

Father-to-be Anton is busy getting the house ready for the new arrival. He has a cot to build and painting to do, but the DIY doesn’t quite go to plan.

Danielle from Lewis lives in a cottage in the west end of Glasgow which was once the studio of famous photographer Thomas Annan. She heads out to the Trongate and Glasgow Cathedral, which Thomas famously photographed.

Sùil air beatha Ghàidheil òga Ghlaschu, ginealach ùr sa bhaile is motha an Alba.

Aig naoi deug, bha Mia roimhe san 9mh àite ann am Breatainn airson rèis BMX ach chaidh i sìos gu 13. Tha i a’ cur roimhe tilleadh gu àite sa phrìomh dheich am bliadhna. Tha i a’ trèanadh aig raon adhartach airson an spòrs ann an Knightswood agus a’ bruidheann air an àite a th’ aig boireannach òg ann an spòrs far a bheil fir nas bitheanta.

Tha Anton trang a cuir air dòigh gnothaichean is e fhèin is a bhràmar an dùil ri leanabh. Tha e a’ deasachadh seòmar a bhèibi – ga pheantadh, a’ dèanamh leabaidh bheag – ach tha cùisean a’ dol na aghaidh...

Tha Danielle à Leòdhas a’ fuireach ann an taigh a bha san 19mh linn na stiùidio aig an dealbhadair ainmeil Tòmas Annan. Tha i a’ falbh le a camara gu Trongate agus gu àrd-eaglais Ghlaschu – àitichean san do thog Annan dealbhan a tha ainmeil fhathast.
