You and Yours has found that school children are being told to move to schools that are closer to home, as councils cut the funding for bus services. Over thirty local authorities in England and Wales have reduced school bus services. In many cases families are being told to pay hundreds or even thousands of pounds a year to get their child to school. Families that can't afford it are being told their child will have to switch to a different school that is closer to home.

If you enjoy eating seafood, it's sometimes hard to know what's sustainable, and where you should buy it from. Signal crayfish may be a good option. It's an invasive species and some UK rivers, canals and lakes have serious overpopulation problems. Signal crayfish were imported into the UK in the 1970s, as a commercial opportunity, but they escaped from farms and bred in the wild. You can get a licence from the Environment Agency to catch signal crayfish to consume at home, but if you want to buy UK caught crayfish, it can be hard to find. Most retailers import peeled crayfish from China, where it is significantly cheaper.

The Phone Paid Services Authority has taken action against companies that sign up mobile phone users to subscriptions without their consent. They are often for services such as gaming, quizzes or adult content, and a weekly charge is added to the phone bill. Many people have told us that they never signed up to these services and weren't aware of the extra charges on their bill. The regulator has issued a record fine of 拢600,000 to Veoo, a company that provided the technology platform used by some subscription services. They also fined eight subscription companies working with Veoo.
