The History of the Bishops’ Palace, St Davids
Katherine Jenkins takes a tour of the Bishop’s Palace, once the most majestic building in Wales to hear how it’s evolution came about as a result of the Kings of England coming to St Davids on pilgrimage. The stunning architecture and scale of the building, which is next door to the famous St Davids Cathedral, is an indication of the important role the church and the various Bishops of St Davids played in secular and religious life of the county in the Middle Ages.

Ffald-y-Brenin, Christian retreat
Radzi Chinyanganya visits the Ffald-y-Brenin Christian retreat near Fishguard, which attracts visitors from around the world.  Many come to experience how lives can be changed through the power of prayer.  Radzi meets Chrissie Bailey, who claims she was cured of a chronic and debilitating illness following a visit to the retreat. He also talks to Roy Godwin, the Executive Director, about the daily regime of prayer and how it has transformed some people’s lives. 

St Govan’s Chapel
Katherine Jenkins visits one of the smallest chapels in the UK, built in memory of St Govan, a hermit monk who made a cliff face, on the south coast of the county, his home. She talks to retired minister and Christian bloggerDavid Pike about the simple and perilous life St Govan led and the stories of healing which have drawn pilgrims to this remote site over the ages.

St David Statue
Like many of the Saints, St David travelled far and wide spreading the word of God, including to Brittany.This year, to commemorate this connection, a statue of the Welsh saint was commissioned to join 120 statues gathered at the Valley of the Saints, in Carnouec in northern France. Sculptor Paul Kincaid talks about the work and the inspiration for it, and we follow the statues’ journey to the Valley of the Saints, which was inspired by the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.
