Vaping concerns; High-rise cladding; Copycat products

The three year study casting further doubt on the health effects of vaping.

A major new report casts further doubts on the health effects of vaping. The study will increase pressure on the Government's insistence that vaping is 95% safer the normal cigarettes. We hear from the report's author.

In the wake of the Grenfell fire, the Government said specialist surveys must be carried out to test for any dangerous cladding and associated fire risks in high rise buildings. But these surveys have not always been carried out, meaning that for thousands of people living in flats in high rise blocks, they can't re-mortgage or sell them. But now some of the major players in the housing market say they've agreed a new industry-wide process meaning that a single assessment for each building will be needed; and one which will be valid for five years. It raises hopes that those deemed to be in 'low-risk' buildings will be able to move forward and sell or re-mortgage.

The British Brands Group has published a new guide to help more companies protect the way their goods look and are labelled. It's in response to copycat labeling, when cheaper own-brand goods are made to look strikingly similar to the branded product. It's something smaller companies get really angry about.

From satellite navigation systems to mobile phones...we all benefit from technology delivered from outer space. But the testing of a new, satellite broadband system is ruffling the feathers of astronomers. We hear from the Royal Astronomical Society who're concerned about the lack of space regulation, which risks blocking their view of outer space.
