Emma wants to uproot her family and move to Oz. Husband Gerald simply doesn鈥檛 agree. How will they feel after a trial week down under?
Having circumnavigated the land down under in a camper van 20 years ago, Emma Howells wants to move her family to Australia. But husband Gerald is not in the same lane as his wife. A Welsh son through and through, he doesn鈥檛 want to leave the green, green grass of home. A trial week gives them the chance to see what life could be like for them in Perth, but will it give the couple answers or drive them further apart?

Howells Family Update
Since the programme, the Howells family have found themselves in limbo.
Visa regulations prevented a move to Perth, and to second-choice, Queensland. Emma then set her sights on Adelaide, researching employment options, housing, and schools. She also sat the required English language exam, but missed the required score by only two points.
As a family the process has come with high financial and emotional costs. At this stage, Gerald and Lilly May have decided that they don鈥檛 want to go back to Australia.
Emma is trying to let go of her dream and appreciate all that she has around her, but it鈥檚 easier said than done. She hopes that seeing their adventure on television will prompt Ger to have a change of heart.
Who knows what the future holds for the Howells Family, but we鈥檒l be keeping an eye.
