Scottish actor, Jack Lowden, mild-mannered Sheffield singer-songwriter, John Shuttleworth and Glasgow Indie-Pop duo, One Nine

Scottish actor Jack Lowden discusses his career and nomination for a BAFTA Rising Star award.

Grant Stott talks Scottish actor, Jack Lowden who has just been nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star award; he will be on hand to discuss the nomination – the only publicly voted BAFTA award – as well as his career and upcoming projects.

The legendary John Shuttleworth will discuss his upcoming ‘50-plus’ tour of the UK, kicking off in January; the new show, JOHN SHUTTLEWORTH'S BACK, addresses the trouble the entertainer is having with his back. The mild-mannered Sheffield singer-songwriter, (created by Graham Fellows) will also discuss his first book in more than 20 years, TWO MARGARINES AND OTHER DOMESTIC DILEMMAS which will be released in February. It’s based on his 2007 song in which he frets about the ‘nightmare scenario’ of opening a new tub of spread when the last had not been finished yet.

Regular AFTERNOON SHOW arts critic, ANNE ELLIS will be reviewing LUCIAN FREUD: SELF PORTRAIT – part of the ‘Exhibition on Screen’ ground-breaking series of award-winning films that brings the world’s greatest exhibitions, artists and galleries to cinemas around the world. Spanning nearly seven decades his self-portraits give a fascinating insight into both his psyche and his development as a painter; from his earliest portrait painted in 1939 to the final one executed 64 years later.

Glasgow Indie-Pop duo, One Nine will also be discussing their work and upcoming gig at King Tut’s in Glasgow on Thursday…

And, we’ll have a special discussion on a fascinating ‘Crime Writing and Forensic Investigation’ Course at The University of Dundee.
