Spenceley

Catching up with Gentle Spenceley, who wanted to move her family to her native New Zealand in 2014. Husband Phil was sceptical, so did Gentle get her way?

In 2014 Gentle Spenceley was desperate to move to New Zealand, where she was born, as it felt more like home. But husband Phil didn鈥檛 share her dream and didn鈥檛 want to go. In their trial week Down Under, Phil confronted not only his emotional fears about leaving his family and parents, but also the practical concerns about being able to fund a move to one of the most expensive places on earth to live. Now, six years later, we catch up with the couple to discover if Phil stuck with the familiarity of home or whether New Zealand impressed enough to influence him to leave his life in the UK behind.

Spenceley Family Update

The Spenceley's are still living near Puhoi. They have finally completed their deck and are now looking at landscaping the garden.

In 2019, Gentle and the boys enjoyed a few months back in the UK with family, and Phil managed to join them for a few weeks.

Harrison is enjoying skiing, horse riding and exploring more of the bush by the house. Ernie has started daycare and is enjoying it. Phil is still doing the same job and Gentle is looking to start work after the long summer school holiday.
