When you live and work in the city there is no better feeling than escaping it at the weekend. Ramsay MacMahon guides us through the perfect short getaway in the Borders.

In this programme Ramsay is on two wheels on a cycling holiday in the south of Scotland. His route takes him past four spectacular abbeys - Jedburgh, Melrose, Dryburgh and Kelso. En route he stops at a local farm which has branched out into berry growing. Ramsay samples the local strawberries and packs a punnet for the road.

He also tries his hand at a sport that is an integral part of life in the Border towns - rugby. A real test of fitness and a source of rivalry between towns, Ramsay is put through his paces by Melrose rugby team at one of their training sessions.
