In this autism-friendly episode, Sean Fletcher is at Whalley Abbey in Lancashire to find out how they, and a minister with Asperger's, are helping others with the condition.

In a special autism-friendly programme, Sean Fletcher visits Whalley Abbey in Lancashire to find out more autism and to meet autistic Christians. He chats to a Church of England minister with Asperger's (a form of autism) who uses board games to help autistic people communicate better. And we hear from members of the Autistic Adult Choir to find out what it’s like to sing and be a part of this groundbreaking group.

Autism is currently a part of daily life for nearly three million people in the UK. We’ve posted a full running order below so you can follow along with the programme. You’ll also notice that there is more explanation in the programme from our presenters.

Autism Introduction

Sean meets Andrew Bowcock, Manager of the National Autistic Society’s centre at Whalley Abbey to find out about autism and the work done at Whalley Abbey to help those with the condition.  


The Rev. Andy Gray

The Rev. Andy Gray is a Church of England minister, he also has Aspergers, a form of autism. He talks to Claire McCollum about what it’s like to have Aspergers and how playing board games can help people with autism.

We hear from the Autistic Adult Choir about the benefits of singing with this ground breaking group.
