Double Bills Streaming Film Reviews and Mari Wilson (aka 'Miss Beehive').

Remember Double Bills?

With everybody staying at home these days and spending a lot of time in front of the TV, one film of an evening might not be enough. The obvious thing to do is work your way through a franchise or boxset but what about films that compliment each other while not actually being directly connected? Grant Stott talks to Regular Afternoon Show Arts critic Ian Hoey about The Double Bill; from the historical aspect to the way they developed and how they were a very big thing up until 'relatively' recently.

He will also offer his recommendations and suggestions for programming your own!

Grant will also be hosting our Streaming Film Review Hour: we’ll hear about critically acclaimed ‘Romantic Comedy’ - musician-turned-filmmaker Elizabeth Sankey, assisted by critics, actors and other directors explores the history of the genre in her insightful debut - the past, present and future of romantic comedies.

He will also discuss the horror film Reborn – a spooky story about a girl who is brought back to life by electro-kinetic powers and abducted by a morgue attendant. On her 16th birthday, she escapes captivity and sets out to find her birth mother, leaving a bloody trail of those who try to get in her way!

And a contemporary classic; the hidden gem that is Midnight Run – featuring both Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin!

All that and another chance to hear Grant in an extended, conversation, with Mari Wilson (aka 'Miss Beehive') - looking back on her career, and explaining her love of Tupperware!
