Tarmod Macleod

Heather Dewar visits Lewis where she draws a colour portrait of poet Tarmod Macleod. Tha Fraoch Nic an Deòir ann an Leòdhas a’dèanamh dealbh dathte de Tharmod MacLeòid.

Combining the role of artist and interviewer, Islay-born artist Heather Dewar creates colour portraits of well-known Gaels – while teasing out of them every little detail of their life story!

Heather travels to the village of Lower Shader in Lewis where her ‘subject’ is Tarmod Macleod. A hugely popular figure on the island, the poet recorded with warmth and wit some of the key events and characters in this area of Lewis.
