James Bay, Anbara Salam, and Cinema Review

Nicola Meighan chats with chart topping singer, songwriter and producer James Bay about his new single Chew On My Heart.

Nicola’s first guest this Friday is none other than, Mr JAMES BAY, the chart topping, double BRIT Award winner and three-times GRAMMY Award-nominee singer, songwriter and producer. We’ll hear his brand new single Chew On My Heart and catch up with the man himself.

Nicola hears from Marie Simpson, manager at Mrs Murray’s Cat and Dog Ö÷²¥´óÐã in Aberdeenshire, who has a great story to share with us as she and her team have had their hands full ever since the home went into lockdown.

One of things we’ve been really looking forward to here on the Friday Afternoon Show is getting out to some of Scotland’s most wonderful parks and gardens again. The National Trust for Scotland is reopening some of its historical grounds. We revisit one of our favourites, The Pineapple!

Scottish Palestinian author, ANBARA SALAM tells Nicola about her latest coming-of-age novel, BELLADONNA, which has been compared to best sellers like, THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY and THE VIRGIN SUICIDES.

If you’re looking for something ambitious for you and your kids to take on this summer why not try building your own theatre? Sounds ambitious but that’s exactly the challenge that Pitlochry Festival Theatre have set you. Desperate for anything that will distract his stir crazy kids, Stephen Hollywood decided to take on the challenge…..

On Wednesday we were finally able to get back into the barber’s chair, visit a museum… and go to the cinema! But with strict social distancing measures still in place and few films having been released, what’s it like being back in a cinema? Film critic Jamie Dunn talks about his first experience of being back in one of those comfy red chairs…!
