DEC - the Disasters Emergency Committee - has launched a fundraising appeal to tackle COVID19 in some of the most fragile places in the world. Dr Mumtaz Mohammed Hussain who is leading the COVID19 response in the world’s largest refugee settlement, Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, Sally Foster Fulton, Head of Christian Aid Scotland and Chair of DEC Scotland, and Sammy Alakil, Chair of the Yemeni Community Association in Scotland, discuss the need for the appeal and the impact of the pandemic in these vulnerable places.

Poet and essayist, Kathleen Jamie, shares personal reflections on lost communities, ancient archaeological sites, and the trials of middle age, from her latest collection of essays, Surfacing.

Journalists, Eamonn O’Neill and Ruth Wishart, give their take on Ö÷²¥´óÐã documentary series, The Rise of The Murdoch Dynasty, and look at the closely entangled relationship between press and politics in the UK.

The world’s population is predicted to decline over the next century, but what exactly does that mean for us and how should we prepare for it? Alistair Currie from Population Matters, Saskia Heijnan from The Clean Air Fund and the University of Edinburgh’s Dr Neil Thin, explore what that means for us and the planet.
