Are you bothering to book a holiday this year?

Are you bothering to book a holiday this year? The government says 'no travel is risk free' after changing the rules over going on holiday in Spain. Call us from 11am on 03700 100 444.

Thousands of holidaymakers' travel plans have been thrown into chaos after the Government extended its travel advice for Spain, telling people to avoid non-essential journeys to the Canary and Balearic Islands as well as the mainland. It's because of an increase in Covid-19 infection rates in some parts of the country. Travel agents say they are struggling to understand the logic of the decision because the islands have lower infection rates than parts of the UK.
It comes amid reports that at least 11 European countries where quarantine-free travel is possible have suffered Covid-19 increases in recent days, with some reaching higher infection rates than the UK. Is a foreign holiday worth the risk?
The uncertainty might tempt you to take a 'staycation' here in the UK. But how much of the country is open for business? Analysis from the UK's tourist organisation VisitBritain shows that concerns about fewer opportunities to eat out and visit attractions is damaging confidence in bookings, with only a third of those surveyed saying they feel happy to book a break in the UK this August.
