The Multiple System Atrophy Trust

The Multiple System Atrophy Trust supports people affected by this rare neurological disease which has no known cause or cure. It strikes men and women indiscriminately and usually begins between the ages of 50 to 60 years.

What is Multiple System Atrophy?

What is Multiple System Atrophy?
Due to its appalling symptoms, a person with MSA is effectively trapped in a body which is slowly shutting down. Social interaction for both the person with MSA and their carer can be highly restricted. Many people have no knowledge or understanding of MSA which often leads those with the condition to experience isolation and depression.

How our Nurse Specialists help

How our Nurse Specialists help
Our MSA Nurse Specialists are a lifeline for people like Gill and Paul who need support on all aspects of living with MSA from symptom management and emotional support to combatting loneliness.
Our telephone and email helpline and the MSA Trust website provide information and resources for people living with MSA, their families and healthcare professionals.

Supporting people with Multiple System Atrophy

Supporting people with Multiple System Atrophy

We run a network of local support groups across the country that enables people to meet others with MSA so they no longer feel alone. Our support groups are continuing virtually during this time of pandemic.
