A Bangor bard鈥檚 words and yarns newly published, an honour for sewing tartan togs for highland dancers and pipers, and finishing off the refurbishment of Ballycopeland windmill.
Although he鈥檇 never probably have described himself as a bard, Dr Robert Lee Moore of Bangor collected words and wrote stories in Ulster-Scots. Some found their way into the local papers in the early 1900s but a new collection of his words, phrases and stories have just been published as 鈥淭he Leevin鈥� Tongue鈥�. We鈥檒l hear more about the collection as well as the picture it reveals of Bangor as an Ulster-Scots town.
Jonnie Crawford catches up with the ongoing refurbishment of Ballycopeland Windmill and Helen Mark chats with 鈥淕ranny Greta鈥� whose work of kitting out dancers and pipers with tartan uniforms for decades earned her a mention in the News Year鈥檚 Honours list. Rab Lennox along with guests Anne Smyth, Mark Thompson complete this week鈥檚 line-up.
