The decade was rich and inspiring when you look at the music that was produced for movie soundtracks, Broadway musicals, and West End stage shows. But it’s also noteworthy because so many of the tracks that were recorded during that era have taken on a new life in the 21st Century too, thanks to the emergence of the so-called ‘Jukebox Musical’, which has brought the back catalogue of great heritage bands and artists to a younger audience. All of which means that Roger has a vast selection of amazing and creative songs to draw from.

He was Tommy, the original Pinball Wizard in Ken Russell’s stunning movie version of The Who’s rock opera, so it’s Tommy Walker sitting in for Johnnie Walker this week, pulling fantastic songs from Bugsy Malone, Grease, Rocky Horror, Quadrophenia, Willy Wonka, A Star Is Born, War Of The Worlds, A Chorus Line, The Wiz and more.

And, as you’d expect from a man who’s met and worked with so many talented people over the past 60 years, he’s got plenty of personal stories and anecdotes throughout the show.
