Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI)

Every year thousands of people across the world are subjected to deliberate attacks with acid and women are overwhelmingly the targets of attacks. Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) aims to end acid violence and support survivors globally.聽 ASTI has helped create and partnered with local foundations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Uganda and Pakistan.聽

Farida was attacked by her husband when she was 24. Her injuries were so severe she spent 6 months in hospital. ASTI鈥檚 local partner Acid Survivors Foundation Bangladesh helped Farida by providing operations at their burns unit.

Chantheoun
Chantheoun was attacked with acid in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Cambodian Acid Survivors Charity, a local partner of ASTI, supported Chantheoun by providing access to operations, physiotherapy and a job.
