Seonaid Aitken explores the exotic side of jazz where music and rhythms from other cultures collide to create a new fusion of sound. Including brand new music from bassist Shez Raja鈥檚 album 鈥楾ales From The Punjab鈥� and 鈥楢frofuturism鈥� from percussionist Michael Wimberley in collaboration with singer Joss Stone (recent winner of The Masked Singer). Plus a Jazz Nights exclusive, an in-depth conversation with saxophonist Paul Towndrow previewing his brand new album 鈥楧eepening The River鈥� which merges jazz with the folks sounds of Scotland and India. Pianist Richard Michael pays tribute to the late Chick Corea with a performance of his composition La Fiesta as part of this week鈥檚 Song Book, saxophonist Binker Golding shares some new free jazz and there鈥檚 time for a virtual boogie across the airwaves as we Dance To The Music with an Earth, Wind and Fire classic from 1979.
