Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN)

The Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN) provides information and support to all those living with or affected by the condition. Lymphoedema is a life-long, visible swelling that occurs when the lymphatic system doesn鈥檛 develop properly, is damaged or overloaded.聽 It affects at least 400,000 men, women and children in the UK, yet few people have heard of it. Whilst symptoms can be managed, it can have a profound impact on every area of life.聽

The LSN information and support line receives over 2,000 calls each year and it is so often a relief for people to talk to someone who really understands.
鈥淭he support line helped me when I was feeling very low and afraid, perfect balance of practical advice and kindness.鈥�

Understanding

Understanding
At the LSN, the majority of our trustees, staff and volunteers are affected by lymphoedema, giving them a unique understanding of the challenges faced by those, like Corrine, who seek our help.聽" I love climbing and the great outdoors and feared lymphoedema, which I developed following treatment for cervical cancer, might stop me.聽 But 5 years later, with the right information, support and a lot of hard work I'm still climbing mountains and rocking my compression garments."

Information

Information
The LSN is a large lymphoedema resource, holding a national directory of lymphoedema services and producing factsheets and school and care home packs. It also provides information online via a website and runs a patient forum.For 30 years the LSN has been supporting people with lymphoedema and with your help will be able to continue doing so.
