Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and Savages vocalist and solo artist Jehnny Beth chat to Mark and Stuart about collaborating on a new album.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast

Today their guests are Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie and Savages vocalist and solo artist Jehnny Beth. The pair have been working together on a new album 鈥楿topian Ashes鈥�. Inspired country soul music, they have written a collection of songs about a married couple who realise their relationship is breaking down.

Bobby and Jehnny first met in 2015, and the following summer Jehnny joined Primal Scream on stage for a duet of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood鈥檚 Some Velvet Morning. They began playing sessions together in Paris in 2017, alongside Beth鈥檚 musical partner Johnny Hostile and the rest of Primal Scream, with the songs evolving into the forthcoming album. Jehnny and Bobby join Mark and Stuart to tell them all about it.
