Gary West is joined by Isla Stout, composer & rising star, from Orkney for a studio session. The youngest person, and the first female player, ever to have been appointed as Pipe Major of the UK's Cadet Force. Isla's musical influences are drawn from far and wide, including a residential spell in Oman. tonight's set features Isla performing some of her favourite piping tunes alongside her own compositions. Also on the show music from the Queen's Own Highlanders, The Kirkwall City Pipe Band, Roddy MacLeod and Calum Stewart.
