Summer Solstice Special

The Freak Zone heads outside to Manchester's Heaton Park and invites you to join us as we celebrate the Summer Solstice, with two hours of blissful music.

The summer solstice 鈥 when the north poles is at its maximum tilt towards the sun - occurs at 4.31am on Monday 21st of June and marks the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. Taking that as our inspiration the Freak Zone slowly meandered around Manchester's Heaton Park, with a two hour playlist as our blanket. Wherever you are we encourage you to download the show and take it a safe outdoor space, so you can experience the gentle glow of light as the evening slowly fades into dust, accompanied by music from Tomita, Meredith Monk, Lee Scratch Perry and Tangerine Dream.
