The Shared Lives Scheme partners vulnerable adults with carers who are prepared to take them into their homes. But pay and conditions vary widely. Now Unite is representing 42 carers who want change. We hear from two about their experiences and Winifred Robinson talks to Alex Fox, chief executive of Shared Lives Plus, the membership charity for the scheme.
