The Piping of Nova Scotia

Gary West celebrates the musical riches of Nova Scotia in Canada, and in particular the traditions of Cape Breton Island, destination for many highland emigrants of the past.

Gary West celebrates the music of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, with Cape Breton Island in particular serving as a hotbed of traditional music and dance, much of it of highland origin. With sets from brothers Kenneth and Angus MacKenzie, Beolach, John MacLean, Matt MacIsaac, Andrea Boyd, Dr Angus MacDonald, and the 78th Highlanders (Halifax Citadel) Pipe Band. We also pay tribute to Prince Edward Island piper, Dr Ellen MacPhee, who sadly passed away two weeks ago.
