Shell Energy Boss, Marillion Insurance, BT Fibre Broadband

When you're owed money by your energy supplier, and they go bust. The band Marillion and it's new way of getting insurance. More complaints about getting cut off by BT.

Another 250,000 people are being transferred to new energy suppliers after the collapse of two more firms last night - Pure Planet and Colorado Energy. It means two million households are now caught up in the energy crisis. We speak to Ed Kamm, Chief Executive of Shell Energy Retail about the challenges of taking on customers from a failed supplier.

We speak to the lead singer of Marillion, Steve Hogarth, about why big bands, like his, are being refused insurance for gigs because of Covid. Marillion has turned to its fan base for help with cover because no insurance company will cover them if one of the band members gets Covid and concerts have to be cancelled.

We have received more complaints from people who are getting cut off from phone and broadband when trying to switch to BT fibre. We hear from the daughter of an elderly couple who were sold full fibre broadband in August, but are still waiting for it to be installed. The couple live in a remote part of Scotland and were disconnected for several weeks after being sold the upgrade. BT has told You and Yours they're sorry about the delay and will be offering compensation. They say that more engineering work is needed before the fibre installation can go ahead. Andrew Ferguson is editor of Think Broadband, a website that offers impartial advice on broadband and cable products. He tells us what's behind these problems and considers whether the big industry drive to give everyone access to faster broadband is moving too quickly for customers.
