According to a recent survey around 10,000 Muslim students each year are either forgoing university entirely or being forced to pay for their own tuition fees because there is no Sharia-compliant student finance available. Peter White speaks to medical student Asha Hasan who has been campaigning for change and Omar Shaikh of the UK Islamic Financial Council about the proposed alternative system they have proposed to the Government.
