Boxing Day Sales; Disability hotel access; Boiling Point; Storm Arwen update

We look at why there seems to be a lack of Boxing Day bargains - and hunters - on the high street. And we're back in Northumberland after Storm Arwen in November.

BOXING DAY SALES
The number of people visiting shops on Boxing Day was 41% down on the post Christmas period of 2019. We discuss why fewer people are visiting the high street and whether the sales are offering as many bargains as in previous years.

DISABILITY HOTEL
After Tom Kitching and his disabled partner Brigid experienced a disastrous visit to a four star hotel, his tweet about their stay went viral. We speak to Tom about what went wrong and Warren Kirwan from Scope about why online booking systems need to change to stop this happening in the future.

FRUIT LEATHER
Clothes, shoes and bags made from plant-based leathers are starting to be sold on the high street in shops including H&M. We chat to Jessica Kruger owner of Luxtra who make luxury accessories from plant leathers and Melanie Broye Engelkes chief executive of Ananas Anam who make a natural textile called Pinatex from pineapple leaves.

BOILING POINT
A new film, Boiling Point, takes a look at the brutal reality of life and the pressures of working in a top restaurant kitchen. We speak to the film鈥檚 director, Philip Barantini, a former chef himself, and Michelin starred Angela Hartnett about how true to life the film is and how the industry is trying to cultivate a better working environment for staff in the kitchen.

LIFE AFTER STORM
Storm Arwen was the worst storm we've had in the UK in more than 15 years. Gusts of wind up to 100mph blew down row after row of power lines, mainly in Scotland and Northern England.

The town of Wooler in Northumberland was one of the worst hit. We speak to farmer and local councillor Mark Mather to find out how the town and people are coping as they seek to rebuild their lives and businesses.
