There are calls for England to follow Scotland and Wales and introduce a minimum price for a unit of alcohol. In England, it's possible to drink the recommended weekly guideline of 14 units, for less than 拢3. The Northern Ireland Executive is currently discussing whether it should introduce minimum prices. We hear from Professor Sir Ian Gilmore who has led on research into minimum pricing to reduce alcohol related harm, and from Lily, whose dad died after being unwell due to damage to his liver which she blames on cheap cider.

Across the UK local authorities are being forced to cancel or reduce services because of staff sickness caused by the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
Social care, children's services and waste collections have all been hit hard. We hear from Counsellor James Jamieson from the Local Government Association and people who have been affected by bus services being reduced.
