Cerys hand picks you an eclectic selection for your perfect Sunday vibes and welcomes Olcay Bayir to perform live at the 主播大秀 Maida Vale studios. With new music from Valerie June, Mavis Staples, Oumou Sangare and Jazzanova and classics from Shirley Scott, Gil Scott Heron, Googoosh and Norma Waterson.

Olcay Bayir's music takes inspiration from the traditional Kurdish and Turkish folk songs of her youth, blending it with her classical training as a soprano and her travels around the world absorbing cultural influences. Born in Gaziantep, she moved to the UK as a teenager and trained in opera before releasing her debut album Neva. Her arrangements of ancient poems, and original songs in Turkish, Kurdish, Armenia and Greek reflect her Anatolian Heritage with a contemporary twist.

Brian Auger tells us stories of playing the harpsichord with the Yardbirds and how he came to play the organ after Georgie Fame got sunburnt in Cornwall. Brian grew up in London and started playing the piano aged 3. He's played with Sonny Boy Williamson, a young Rod Stewart and Jimi Hendrix. Inspired by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers and Jimmy Smith, Brian is an award winning genre busting jazz piano prodigy who's also been cited as the godfather of Acid Jazz.
