Some have claimed that a chatbot - Google's LaMDA program- shows signs of genuine sentience, and are already looking into the issue of rights for robots. Others dispute whether humans can ever successfully replicate true emotional intelligence, and fear the dangers of turning machines into humans, and humans into machines.
