Iagan MacNeil finds out about the landscape and history along the St Cuthbert鈥檚 Way. The 62-mile-long pilgrims鈥� route, named for the 7th century hermit, healer and bishop, St Cuthbert, links Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders where Cuthbert began his religious life, with his original burial place on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne off the Northumbrian coast.
Iagan crosses the beautiful Monteviot Suspension Bridge, finds out about the Border Reivers and the Rough Wooing at Cessford Castle. He visits Morebattle, walks through the snowy hills of Grubbit Law and Wideopen Hill, the highest point of the route, and finds out about Kirk Yetholm鈥檚 history with the gypsy community in Scotland.
