There are many routes to becoming a successful country singer and songwriter, but earning a living as a Hannah Montana impersonator has to be one of the more unusual. But that’s exactly what Lainey Wilson did growing up in smalltown Louisiana before making the move to Nashville around 10 years ago. With a voice that’s drawn comparisons with Dolly Parton, Lainey was happy to acknowledge her idol’s influence in the song What Would Dolly Do on her 2021 album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’. These days she’s combining her musical career alongside acting in the hit TV series Yellowstone.
