Dripping Springs, Texas sounds like the kind of name that a cowboy fiction writer would come up with. But that’s exactly where the 3 members of Midland – video director Cameron Duddy, former actor and underwear model Mark Wystrach and guitarist Jess Carson decided to base themselves after forming the band around 10 years ago. Their name – Midland – is a nod to Dwight Yoakam’s song Fair To Midland - which gives the listener a good idea of where their musical influences lie. With their 1970s-inspired look and a talent for giving retro sounds a whole new spin, Midland have drawn rave reviews for their live shows. Past triumphs include the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show, a sold out run at Fort Worth’s Billy Bob’s and re-opening North Hollywood’s legendary Palomino Club. But this time it’s London’s turn as they take to the stage of the O2.
