Kevin Le Gendre presents concert highlights from jazz fusion guitarist Lionel Loueke performing with Germany鈥檚 WDR Big Band. Described by his mentor Herbie Hancock as 'a musical painter', Loueke has a style of his own, informed by a deep knowledge of African music and his roots in Benin.
Also in the programme, we hear from award-winning pianist, composer and educator Nikki Iles, a key figure in the UK jazz scene, who shares some of the music that inspires her.
