Roads officials say they are working closely with the PSNI to improve safety on the A5. Last week, three members of the same family from Strabane died in the latest crash on the notorious stretch of road between Derry and the border at Aughnacloy. But the Department of Infrastructure says any further improvements on the existing road is subject to funding. Meanwhile, a public inquiry into plans to upgrade the road to a dual carriageway is due to get underway later this month.
