Coleraine woman whose father was injured in IRA bomb 50 years ago speaks of friendship with the convicted bomber since losing her husband.

A woman whose father was seriously injured in an IRA bomb in Coleraine 50 years ago says the friendship she forged with the man who planted the bomb has helped her through personal challenges following the recent death of her husband. Jean Jefferson's father was severely disfigured in the blast, which killed six people in the town in 1973. Her aunt was also one of the six killed. 33 people were injured that day. In 2011, Jean met and forgave the man who was convicted of the bombing. Sean McGlinchey, who is currently a Sinn Fein councillor and former Mayor, spent 18 years in jail for his part in the car bomb attack. Jean Jefferson spoke to Dean McLaughlin ahead of the anniversary.
