Derry's Foyle Valley Railway Museum & Destined charity

Foyle Valley Railway Museum, and the Destined charity, who work with young people with learning difficulties on training tour guides.

The doors of the Foyle Valley Railway Museum opened again today for the first time since a major revamp. The local charity Destined, which works with young people and adults with Autism and learning disabilities, secured a long term lease from the local council in 2016 and set about restoring it to its former glory. The museum features artefacts from the railways from the North West of Ireland as well as items donated by local people. The museum on the Foyle road also boasts a state of the art interpretative centre and members of Destined have trained as tour guides and are suited and booted in 19th century costumes.
We celebrate Derry man James McClean on earning his 100th cap for the Republic of Ireland making him only the seventh player to have accomplished the milestone, and the first Derry man to have done so.
And Polish born photographer Patryk Sadowski on why he braves the cold nights to take stunning pictures of his adopted home of Derry, Donegal and the North coast.
