Meeting to be held over possible Irish government inquiry into Omagh bombing

A meeting is to be held over a possible Irish government inquiry into the Omagh bombing. Michael Gallagher will meet with the Tanaiste Michael Martin and the ROI justice minister.

A meeting will be held in Dublin between Michael Gallagher, the Tanaiste M铆chael Martin and the Republic's Justice Minister Helen McEntee exploring whether the Irish Government will hold a public inquiry into whether the Omagh bombing could have been prevented.
The UK Government announced in February there will be an independent statutory inquiry into the 1998 bombing - the biggest single atrocity of the Troubles.
A High Court ruling in Belfast in 2021 said there should be an investigation on both sides of the border into whether intelligence information could have prevented the Real IRA attack.
We hear from Michael Gallagher whose son Aiden died in the bombing.
