From vile slurs to aggressive abuse, social media is awash with comment unlikely ever to grace the pages of any reputable newspaper. Is it too late to rein the platform providers in? Do we need to change the law to impose greater responsibility on those providers?

Also on the programme; A fairer deal on pay? the soaring rate of inflation and rising interest rates have left everyone worse off, some by considerable margins, especially those with a mortgage.
It's no surprise, therefore, that throughout the public and private sector, many workers are demanding a pay rise seeking what they describe as a fair deal in a world where their money simply doesn't go far enough.
But what is fair and how should people be rewarded?
