Bee Therapy, the Fossil Code and the Crieff Cloverleaf

Mark Stephen and Rachel Stewart with stories from the great outdoors.

The Fife coastal path extends more than 100 miles and Philippa Mitchell has walked every inch of it in her role as artist in residence. Rachel joined her at Fife Ness near Crail to chat about the book and paintings that she was inspired to create.

Mark cannot resist a swim in the sea as the sun shines down at the Sands of Sound in Shetland. Let鈥檚 join him in spirit, as he ploughs through the waves and provides a running commentary of the deep.

Rachel heads to Perthshire, where she meets up with a passionate motorcyclist, Kona Macphee, who has devised four touring routes specifically for bikers called the Crieff Cloverleaf.

The Fossil Code has been rereleased, and to mark the launch Scotland is paying homage to the pioneering female geologists across time, who have until now, had very little recognition. We chat with palaeontologist, Dr Katie Strang, about it all.

Scotland鈥檚 first bee therapy retreat has opened in Perthshire, and Rachel is keen to go along to see what all the buzz is about. She meets Charlotte Blackler at the Monachyle Mor hotel, which is home to the new apipods.

Mark visits Aberlady where he meets Warden of the Nature Reserve, John Harrison, to talk about the flora of the site.

Maud Start went along to the biannual Scything Festival at Blackhaugh Community Farm, to meet organiser Rob Brodie and find out how this ancient technique is making a comeback.

An extract from our midweek podcast sees Mark talking with Mark Chivers and Brian Wishart about the Sixareen Vaila Mae, in Lerwick, Shetland.

Mark attends a Vintage Car Rally in Inverurie, where he chats with Cameron Anderson and Findlay Lawson.
